Castro Valley is a city in the Bay Area in California. Lake Chabot would be a nice place to go to in that area. There are picnic areas, a beautiful lake, boats (canoes, paddle boats, etc.) for rent, and a hiking trail. The whole area is very serene once you're hiking or on the lake and the picnic area is a great place to kick back and have some food.
