In the heart of China, Chongqing has very few people that are not Chinese. And so naturally we drew a bit of attention to ourselves simply by walking down the streets. At one point we stopped and a crowd of people gathered around us. Of course, we had no idea what all the chatter was about. They could have been making fun of us for all we knew. Instead, we assumed they thought we were American movie stars.

Standing around in the awkwardness of not being able to communicate, my buddy decided to make a peace offering by putting his bright green baseball hat on the head of one of the onlookers. Immediately the crowd went crazy and gathered around the man with the hat. He sure looked satisfied, although I guess we'll never know. I hope we made his day...
