As much as my dad and I have in common, our vacation preferences are very different. While I am perfectly content relaxing on the beach, my dad is what I like to call an "active vacationer". After spending a few hours snorkeling and sun bathing, my dad's boredom was too much and he decided to lead the family on a hike along the "rugged Na Pali Coast".

My two sisters and I marched up the trail behind our parents almost as if it were a punishment to be hiking through the cool forest on a beautiful day in Kauai. Looking back on these photos, however, I can't understand how I could have been so foolish.
