Believe it or not, the one thing I most remember from our stop at the lighthouse and bird sanctuary was not the birds. Yeah, I guess there were a few out on Moku'ae'ae Island, but my biggest memory from over 4 years ago was spotting the Hawaiian monk seals all the way down the sea cliffs. With our binoculars we could see them swimming around in the churning ocean below. We actually turned it into a contest of who could spot the most. Although the results were hotly debated, of course I was the winner...
