Mountains...oh how nice (part 2)

I wanted to camp but didn't even have even enough water for a cuppa. I found a petrol station, bought a load of bottles, emptied them into my water bladder, was offered some gloves and then back tracked to do a nifty little left turn up a dirt track. Campy campy time.

Light was fading but managed to find a superb spot. The moon was out in full force, so even as the sun disappeared behind a hedge there was a crisp clean glow.

I set up camp and was about to whistle Ditch when I heard a thump. Wheelie had toppled over after Ditch had jumped in her box. She was suffering from shear impatience at waiting for me to get everything ready. She looked at me still in the box trying not to look guilty.

I'll have to admit that Wheelie is somewhat top heavy, and when precariously balanced on a bump she can easily keel over. Her stealth, stability and speed have long gone. She is rather large even when viewed from every angle.

This side view seems the best though.... you can't quite tell how much stuff.

I was desperate to convince myself otherwise, but the photos refused to lie. I continued up and over hills with a heavy heart and mind. Not to mention having to power a Sherman Tank using only a few strands of sinew.

Ditch was still not keen on the idea of sleeping in the tent. I let her wander round outside for a while and then had to grab her and drag her in. She would have slept outside by wheelie's wheel. Wheelie can handle it, she has proven herself time and time again. Ditch is still wet behind the ears.

The day started off at 22.5 degrees Celsius and ended up at 5. It was a chilly night for sure..... but we had better get used to it as this is just the warm up.
