The Advertising Museum - Tokyo contains permanent exhibits that allow patrons to experience the evolution of Japanese advertising from the Edo period in the nineteen century to the present. All of the major media (other than Internet) are represented in the exhibits.

The Museum is located on floors B1 and B2 in the Caretta Shiodome, a 51-floor skyscraper in the monstrous Shidome edifice. In addition to the museum, the building houses numerous shops and restaurants and is also the headquarters for both Nippon Television and Dentsu, Japan's leading advertising agency.

Admission is free. The Museum is accessible from both the Shinbashi and Shiodome stations and is worth a stop if you want a quick intro to Japanese culture - as viewed through advertising.
