On our drive down the Oregon coast, we stopped at the Oregon Dunes National Recreational Area.  We were blown away.  The dunes are 100s of feet tall and the sand is the softest I've ever felt.  We felt like we were on a different planet, or at least on the set of Spaceballs. ;)  Be sure to bring a cheap plastic snow sled.  We didn't but I will next time.

We were in a rush to get down the coast and only had a couple hours, so we walked into the visitor center in Reedsport to make sure we wouldn't waste time seeing anything less that the biggest dunes the park had to offer.  We were told to go about 15 minutes south on 101 from Reedsport.  The dunes were huge and the view from the top was spectacular. xxxx
