Majorca is the largest of the Spanish Balearic islands and is in the Mediterranean sea off the southern coast of Spain. As the island is located in the Med, the weather is beautiful, remaining sunny through most of the year and the calm water is good for swimming.

The island has many good resorts like Alcudia, Magaluf, Pollensa and the capital Palma de Mallorca. The island is popular with tourists and the facilities in the resorts are very good. The dramatic mountain range of Sierra de Tramuntana is in the northern part of the island and is home to some picturesque villages that are worth visiting. For families the white-sand beach of Playa de Palma is perfect and offers a nearby water park, beach bars pubs and clubs.

The Caves del Drac “Dragon Caves”, are limestone caves by Porto Cristo. These caves are popular with tourists and a tour through the caves is recommended for a day out.
