Gateway of India

The Gateway of India is the most famous monument in Bombay, and was erected as a triumphal arch in honor of King George V and Queen Mary when they visited India.  It is right across from the well-known Taj hotel, at one end of the so-called Queen's Necklace strip of Bombay's Marine Drive.  The Gateway is generally swarming with tourists, vendors, and little kids trying to sell you flowers and other knick-knacks; I had a great conversation with the little boy in the picture, who turned out to be the quickest-witted eight-year old I've ever met.
