Rocking Whiterock

Whiterock is a little town that lies along the coast of B.C. It is about an hour's drive from Vancouver, and is easy to get to, as it is a rather famous tourist spot.

Apart from being abuzz with tourists, it is also covered with rocks (well, isn't that a surprise), though whether they are white or not, I shall leave upto you to decide. One man's white is another man's yellow, I say.

What makes Whiterock famous is its beach - rock beach, that is. There is no sand on this beach, so if you're like me, that might disappoint you a little. However, if you're like my friends, you will find a way to amuse yourself by finding the best stone skipper amongst you.

While one side is flanked by the beach, the other side of the street is filled with tiny shops that cater to the tourists palates and wallets. Will it be souvenirs or gelato?

My advice is to take a trip to Whiterock alone on a fine summer day, get yourself some ice cold gelato, find a nice rock to sit on, stare into the ocean, and do some self reflection.

And then, practice some stone skipping.
