Badami is a town in Karnataka that was founded by an early ruler of the Chalukya dynasty. It is known for its rock-cut cave temples. Aihole, the last of the three major sites of architecture and the first capital of the Chalukya empire. Combined with the surrounding natural greenery and scenery, Aihole had the most gorgeous ruins and temples of the three sites. Aihole is known as the cradle of Hindu rock architecture.

Pattadakal is the second of three famous architectural sites of the Chalukya empire; the first is Badami and the last is Aihole. Pattadakal is the site of some very beautiful temples and beautiful greenery.
