Lijiang City refers to an administrative division comprising of urban and rural areas in northwestern Yunnan Province,China. Its population is 1,100,000. The famous "Lijiang old town" (as it iscommonly known) is more correctly called the Dayan old town.

Although I didn't get a chance to attend this spectacular event, it definately seems worth attending at some point in life. These pictures were sent to me by a friend. If you ever get the chance to go to China during December or you happen to be there, check out the Snow & Ice Festival.

Trip Tip: Avoid the weeks of 10/1 (China's National Holiday) and other official holidays for travelling because you will be bombarded by millions of Chinese people travelling to touristy places as well.
