On our way back from Italy, we spent the night in this beautiful southern Swiss town of Lugano.  It was still Italian as was Golino on the way down to Italy.  Golino was more of a village, where Lugano is a larger lake city with much wealth.  Since we got there on a Saturday evening and left Sunday late morning, our wallets remained in tact because all the high end stores there were closed! haha so we window shopped instead of emptying our wallets!

We arrived there just before supper time and spent about two hours enjoying our hotel pool and grounds, relaxing after our seven hour drive up from Perugia.  The weather was so gorgeous we opted for outside dining along the lakefront.  As we walked along the lake to our restaurant, we saw many boats in the water, including very cool vintage paddle boats!  The lakeside garden was just beautiful, where we saw this tree carving as well as swans paddling near the bank. 

Lugano is a beautiful southern Swiss city that I would love staying a few nights in... maybe on a future trip to Italy.  You definitely knew you back in Switzerland because of the wealth of the city. 

The next day we drove a few more hours back to Rapperswil where we spent Sunday afternoon and evening.  I'll post pics of our lovely day there in my next post.  It was a warm Sunday afternoon and the little lakeside village was bursting with fun activity.  It's there where we had the Streisand spotting LOL.  How's that for a tease!  haha  I even have pics of her, well "backside" pics - wait and see!
