I didn't use Tipex on the eyes... Honest !
I spent most of the night awake like a restless mother, so the three of us had a late start. Just as well really, it gave me a chance to properly prepare Ditch's 'vegetable basket super chariot.'
I'd become quite a patron of the local super market and had all the staff on red alert. All the staff were stalking me, pretending to stock shelves just to have a look at me. After a pathetic effort at trying to explain one lady that I found a small dog in a ditch and now need to feed it, I was pointed upstairs. Dog bowl heaven. I'd stocked up already on food for her, just needed a few extra things. Last night when I was perusing the isles I met two lovely girls.
They were exceptionally confident. In fact I'd say that Fujian children are all very upfront. They are not shy at all. The oldest girl was so happy to know that I could speak Chinese. I asked if she could speak English. She said "she loved me". We chatted away for a while and they helped me do the shopping, then they came with me to pay for everything, then they came outside, just to wave good bye.
I'd recommend Jianyang to anyone who wanted to be an English teacher in a random Chinese city. Its really a great place. Like most Chinese cities, it is not a pretty place, but the people were really nice. Very direct, very welcoming, chilled out and generally cool.
Ditch had a delicious breakfast of spam and milk, I had noodles, this time with no MSG. After a a few trials, Wheelie was ready for the new passenger. Ditch is damn cool, she never complains.
Oooo I'd better make a correction. She, is actually a he. I found something this evening.
He just sat and watched the world float by. A natural traveller.
Green and nice (part 1)
