victoria ward centers is a relatively new shopping and entertainment complex that revitalized the kaka’ako district in oahu. anchored by a massive movie theater with 16 screens, topped by a permanent large white canopy, the ward center is a place to be for teenagers and adults alike on the weekends or even during the week. with numerous award-winning restaurants such as “brew moon” and local favorites such as “kua’aina,” selling gourmet hawaiian burgers, one will never go hungry on this exciting strip located next the state’s largest mall, ala moana center. the ward center is also known for its shopping, housing many of the states’ small hip boutiques and even the japanese supermarket, “marukai,” where one can buy japanese candy along with fresh sushi. the ward centers is very popular with locals and families; people often sit in starbucks (there are two within two blocks) and restaurants like “wolfgang puck express,” where they spend a leisurely day people-watching as they stroll past this new center, also conveniently located one block away from the ala moana beach park. new and exciting stores will be opening soon to accompany the already bustling district.
