if you find yourself having a little time still left in your stay in oahu or on one of the other islands, you should definitely take the time and money to travel to the other islands, like the big island, maui, or kauai. each island has a unique charm that is distinct and worth pursuing. round trip tickets to an outer island usually costs around a hundred dollars and it is well worth it just to get a taste of what hawaii has to offer. of course, the big island offers active volcanoes, while kauai and maui have several of the world’s most beautiful and best beaches. in my experience, you’d think that living in hawaii (oahu) is a paradise, but only after visiting the other islands have i realize that they offer something else, an island-living charm that truly exemplifies living in paradise.
