hawaii food: shrimp wagons

one of my favorite things to do when i’m at the north shore of oahu is to try some of the garlic shrimp plates from the shrimp wagons along the road in kahuku. the fresh shrimp raised in shrimp farms located around that side of the island is incredibly sweet and delicious. then, of course, there’s the secret recipe of the way they cook the shrimps that brings out the sweetness of the shrimp. the price for these fresh shrimps aren’t too bad either. i don’t really remember how much they were but it shouldn’t be more than ten dollars, and they make a great snack. compared to what they serve in town, it is in fact a bargain!
